Last-Minute Christmas Shopping
I just hate last-minute Christmas shopping. It’s so stressful. A year ago, I made a terrible mistake of forgetting to buy a toy as a christmas present for one of my nephews. I thought my list was already complete (including my ever-growing-list of god children) so I was horrified when I realized that I had nothing for Mac-mac. His cousins would be receiving toy cars from me and it would be way too obvious that I wasn’t able to prepare something for him if I’ll just give him cash. Besides, giving money to a 4-year old boy is not exactly appropriate. His mom told me I’m going to make his son cry! Oh no! The last thing I would want to do on Christmas Eve is to break a little boy’s heart! So on the 19th of December, I braved the heavily trafficked streets of Manila and I endured the over-crowded mall of Robinson’s to buy a gift for my nephew. Problem with me is that I easily get impatient if the line in the counter is too long. Especially if I see that the person in front is fumbling for his money or if he’s undecided to purchase or not :( I wanted to sigh out loud. What’s wrong with these people? They perfectly know that everyone’s in a hurry and yet they act as if they are just walking in the park! Luckily, I was able to keep my cool
told myself “hey it’s Christmas!” hehe. So this year, I’m saving myself from all the troubles. I made sure my list is REALLY complete and I even prepared some extra gifts. And also, I realized I should always keep my cool even if it’s not Christmas lol! Hope the same for all you guys
cheers!

Posted November 20, 2008, 6:57 amI hate Christmas Shopping too that is why… I start buying Christmas presents right after Christmas. hahahaha. Yup, that is the best time to buy gifts… all items are on sale including the gift wrappers because they are remnants of the [previous] Christmas stocks. The upside, I’m done with shopping by October and have time for spa during the Christmas season. Downside… if you don’t have a good place to keep the stuff, you are doomed. lol

Posted November 21, 2008, 2:31 amIt is definitely not a good idea to wait until the last minute to get your Christmas gifts. I don’t like the idea of giving money for gifts, even though people may comment “My favorite color”.
I make a list of the people on my Christmas gift list. If I know what I am looking for then I list that beside their name. I may need to go shopping to get ideas for Christmas gifts.
I do not give clothes unless I specifically ask the person, or someone who knows, their size. I also ask some of their friends if this piece of clothing might be something that they would like and that they would wear.
